Position Overview

Precision Planting is a subsidiary of AGCO Corporation and a leading provider of planting and harvest technology in the Precision Ag Industry. We design innovative products that solve yield-robbing issues for farmers. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Business Development Specialist. The individual will assist Business Development Lead with overall commercial account relationship with OEM’s and developing relationships with new strategic business partners.

The individual will assist Business Development Lead with formulating the overall development plan (training, product knowledge) of our current OEM accounts and with new strategic business partners, and will be the primary one to execute this plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate product training (new and existing) with OEM Accounts. This would include technical training/install training/sales training.

  • Facilities and leads weekly calls or meetings with the OEM Precision Farming Specialist team.

  • Collaborate with the OEM Precision Farming Specialist to execute on plots, in-field demos, and presentations. Responsible for the overall success of these demonstrations.

  • Assist Business Development Lead in developing relationships and sales & training programs with new industry partners - seed, fertility, crop protection, soil testing, etc.

  • Assist Business Development Lead in developing training & events for existing and new OEM accounts/industry partners.

  • Coordinate product changes and/or improvements with Precision Planting and OEM Engineering/QC teams.

  • Assist Business Development Lead in Strategy & Update meetings with OEM Partners and with Precision Planting internal meetings / Farm Shows / Expos.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Business studies, MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in leadership/account management or working in the agriculture industry

  • Ability to communicate technical information to customers

  • Ability to influence a team

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

  • Highly motivated

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

Desired Skills/Experience’

  • Experience in Agriculture or Precision Agriculture account management is strongly desired
