JOB FUNCTION:A Warehouseperson is primarily responsible for receiving, handling (both manually and automatically), packing/unpacking, sorting, checking, and shipping a wide variety of materials and parts using receiving scales and scanner and keyboard. Will check the visual condition of incoming materials and parts. Responsible for locating stock, filling requisitions, reporting stock depletion, and completing necessary paperwork according to company guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Receive, unpack, count, sort, and check various materials and parts, weighing up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 70 pounds occasionally, so as to monitor symbol number, description, size, and count against receiving, packing, and/or shipping list.
  • Manually place materials in containers most suitable for moving them to the proper locations.
  • Check visual condition of incoming parts to assist in monitoring product quality.
  • Ships requested orders as follows:
  • Locate material received in designated storage locations so as to ensure efficient material handling.
  • Maintain and update manual location file.
  • Manually guide the movement of items weighing up to 500 pounds on roller conveyors.
  • Takes cycle counts as requested.
  • Independently operates manually controlled, electrically powered, side loading and high lift order selectors.
  • Independently operates gas and electrically powered forklifts.
  • Mechanically transports and mechanically moves numerous materials (frequently weighing up to 500 pounds and occasionally up to 3,000 pounds in weight), to and/or from designated storage locations; i.e. To fill outgoing requisitions and/or to unload incoming materials.
  • Verifies items/materials handled against shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and other documents to ensure the maximum accuracy and quality of work performed; reports discrepancies to warehouse supervisor or foreman.
  • Utilizes a variety of tools, weighing up to 20 pounds, in order to perform required duties effectively.
  • Required to inspect the operating condition of equipment operated on a daily basis (according to standards outlined on company provided checklist).
  • Responsible for precise placement of various materials so as to maximize safety benefits to all co-workers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

  • At least three to twelve months of relevant warehouse experience.

Training:

  • Specific training will be provided in-house.
