IT Developer II. - ETL Data Development Job

The ETL Developer position will be responsible for supporting Data Migration, Data Warehousing and Reconciliation Reporting requirements using AGCO's existing ETL development toolset, as well as helping in the migration towards a consolidated, strategic ETL platform. Excellent Data Analysis skills are required for this role. This will include responsibility to provide technical guidance on the ETL approach for IT Project and Applications teams, to support the entire life-cycle of projects and change requests. This may encompass multiple systems, functions, locations and countries. Technical project support would also include the overall IT responsibility for the technical investigation, planning, design, construction, implementation and post go live hypercare of ETL components. This role can also include the day-to-day technical support for data related issues, investigating root cause and ideal solutions to resolve data discrepancies, ensuring the highest possible level of data quality is maintained for the IT systems involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an understanding of AGCO's business processes and the application systems/infrastructure that supports them.

Provide guidance on optimum ETL tool utilization, depending on requirements, either individually or as part of a wider data integration solution.
  • Lead the development and design for complex data integration and transformation opportunities for global and regional data projects and follow the appropriate change control procedures, including the creation and ownership of technical specifications and testing documentation.
  • Identify areas of continuous improvement, to increase possibilities of right first time implementations and reduce overall support requirements.
  • Recommend and prepare documentation on best practices, development procedures, reporting, and strategic opportunities.
  • Define support procedures to routine problems that can be handled by the Service Desk, Super User or second level IT support organizations.
  • Ensure ETL projects and components developed offer efficient solutions and conform to data quality levels defined by the project or functional data analyst.
  • Prepare documentation for hand over of ETL components to functional teams, in order that they can effectively control data loads in support of project phases, from Integration Tests through to Go-Live. Participate in the change management process for hand over of productive scheduled processes such as reconciliation reports.
  • Monitor performance and provide responsive action to issues, maintaining a high-level of internal customer satisfaction regarding delivered ETL processes.
  • Ensure individual and team compliance with all AGCO policies, procedures and regulations, including Sarbanes Oxley, GDPR, IT and Security. Follow established governance processes and standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in an IT related subject. Excellent development skills, using an established ETL tool, such as Talend or Informatica PowerCenter, with a good understanding of their approach to data extract, analysis, cleansing and transformation.
  • 2-3 years business experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP BODS, being AGCO's strategic ETL platform, is also highly preferable.
  • Working experience of building, deploying, scheduling and monitoring ETL jobs.
  • Excellent Java, and SQL skills are also vital for this role, as well as experience of working with various ERP and DBMS systems, including SAP HANA, MS SQLServer, Oracle, AWS Redshift.
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong analytical skills required in resolving problems with technical components developed, as well as data quality issues. The latter would require full root cause analysis, in order to understand and plan the route forward.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills and the capability to interact with multiple levels of IT and Business management are essential.
  • The ability to collaborate with and influence globally diverse groups, in a complex, rapidly changing environment is also required to deliver value-added solutions.
