JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Shipping Team Lead

Department: Shipping A99, 3^rdShift (9pm-5:30am)

Classification: Non-exempt

Reports to: Sr. Production Manager

Job Summary

The team lead will oversee and coordinate daily activities such as receiving, consolidating, and packaging finished goods, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods to the shipping area, supervising staff, and ensuring the safe operation of the warehouse. Additionally, the team lead will participate in and lead improvement activities to enhance the efficiency and organization of final shipment for finished goods.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure the accurate delivery of material to the shipping area based on the daily shipping schedule.
• Efficiently and accurately consolidate, package, and prep material for final shipment.
• Direct and promote a work environment of continuous improvement through proactive process improvement programs.
• Communicate expectations, assignments, and responsibilities clearly and professionally.
• Provides quality customer service, interacting with leadership from various departments to mitigate backordering material.
• Promote a team environment through effective communication and delegation.

Safety Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety rules, policies and procedures.
• Report any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and report any defective PPE.
• Report all near-misses, incidents, injuries, illnesses, including mobile equipment or property damage.
• Participation in the site Safety and Health Program.

Essential Skills

Education

HS Diploma or GED required

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong leader and excellent communicator
• 2+ years of progressively responsible or related experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior experience in warehouse organization

• Prior experience in lean manufacturing preferred
• Knowledge in use of SAP or other related ERP application software preferred
• Experience with common software required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP Systems
• Must be able to influence and communicate to all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated ability to think conceptually with a real commitment to change and continuous improvement

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F.
