JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Bin Line Machine Operator

Department: A29

Classification: Non-exempt

Reports to: Sr. Production Manager/Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Bin Line operator operates various roll forming machines and fabricates material to specification, from production schedule and document production data.May include 12 hour rotation to an off-shift through busy months – e.g. 2 days on 2 days off, followed by 3 days on, 3 days off on 3rdshift schedule to meet customer demands. Or could also include 12 hour shifts during busy season - e.g. 7am - 7pm.


Job Responsibilities

  • Follow required safety and work procedures.
  • Set-up, adjust, program, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on roll forming equipment.
  • Load flat or coil steel utilizing and overhead crane.
  • Move finished material utilizing a fork truck or combi lift.
  • Fabricate material to specification, from production schedule and document production data at a level of output that minimizes production delays.
  • Ability to read a blue print.
  • Ability to read a tape measure to match blue print specifications of part.
  • Use management information systems such as DMM and Cell job list.
  • Utilize quality checks to ensure all systems are set for correct operational sequencing and to meet product standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area to 5S Standards.
  • Implement and maintain all aspects of AGCO Lean and Quality Management systems.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential skills

Education

High school diploma or GED.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of how to use measuring instruments (calipers, protractor, tape measure, steel ruler), read blueprints and operate hand grinder and other hand tools.
  • Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments.
  • Fork truck and overhead crane experience preferred

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40°F to 105°F.
