The Buyer will assist in driving the development and implementation of AGCO’s regional commodity strategies resulting in best-in-class quality, delivery, and total cost of ownership. Additionally, the Buyer supports Regional Commodity Manager through RFQ execution, negotiations, market analysis, strategy development, contract management as well as data gathering and analysis. The Buyer also supports the Global team by identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives for both transactional and strategic purchasing. Success measured is based on spend addressed, value delivered, and overall service to stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Accountable for savings target development and execution
  • Manages priorities and competing demands, with a sense of optimism, flexibility, and ownership, effectively managing internal customer expectations including special projects

  • For select commodities, develop and/or assist Purchasing and Commodity Managers execute long-term strategy deployment, supplier cost modeling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, make/buy analyses, negotiations, long-term contract establishment, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development
  • Develop a solid working knowledge of certain commodity trends including: industry trends, cost drivers, global and regional pricing, material lead times, and technical/manufacturing processes
  • Assist the Commodity Manager in successfully contracting suppliers to provide AGCO with cost-optimized commodities. Responsible to support Global team for Contract Management including coordinating inputs gathering for contract submissions
  • Work with Commodity Manager to support the Supplier Performance Review, including the coordination and support on-site supplier assessment / certification audits and continuous improvement activities that drive down total cost

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business or related disciplines (ie. Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, Commodities Management)
  • 3+ years of experience within any Purchasing related area (e.g. as a Buyer, Commodity Manager, Supply Chain Analyst, or another related commodity’s position managing, specifically in a manufacturing environment or with a manufacturing company)
  • Business fluency in English & German
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, including the ability to create Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS

A Plus If You Have

  • Understanding of multi-step strategic sourcing processes, e-commerce tools, , insourcing, outsourcing and/or implementation of large projects
  • MBA, or Master’s in a supply chain related degree
  • Experience working with OEM or Tier 1 automotive supplier
  • Experience working with a Purchase To Pay, ERP system.E-sourcing technology
  • Intermediate knowledge of Tableau and Six Sigma methodology
  • Other languages (such as, , , French, Finnish, Italian)
